I was driving home from a shopping expedition this afternoon, approaching the I-75 overpass up on Colonial, and I noticed a bunch of construction on the other side of the interstate. Now that I look at it, there aren’t a whole lot of balcony rooms at the Swan, are there? Maybe they reserve them for Starwood guests? Anyhow, the striped awnings are new. Maintenance was in the act of finishing up the installation over by the Dolphin while we were there.
We went for a walk around the resort, stopping in at Picabu at the Dolphin to get some supplies for the room (milk, water, iced tea and bananas). I just can’t resist taking a photo of shells wherever I see them.
Amazingly, we were able to check in right away. There was a small housekeeping cart in our room, but we just wheeled it into the hallway and proceeded on in. Here’s our view from the balcony – pretty much exactly opposite the Dolphin.
The guest room where Kim and I would bunk for the night is customized for our chillaxin’ pleasure. Please note the Disney’s Finding Nemo night light, as well as a portrait of Kim, Mister Moose and I posing on New Year’s Day. We all look damned cute! There was also a memory foam pillow on my bed. My neck loved it!
