Formula: The Quest For Strawberry

Not too blond, not too red, not too dark, not too light, the formula was the product of several years of trial and error with my hair stylist/colorist, Nancy. The final formula is...

Ike’s feeder bands will be here soon

© Copyright 2008 Tink *~*~* http://MyMobileAdventures.blogspot.com It’s a bit overcast this morning.  We’re probably in for some heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, courtesy of Hurricane Ike’s feeder bands.   But as you can see, he continues to progress to the south of us in stead of right over us.  The Keys are still in some danger, but here in Southwest Florida, it doesn’t look likely that the damaging part of Hurricane Ike...

Sea Shells – Labor Day Gifts From Gustav

© Copyright 2008 Tink *~*~* http://MyMobileAdventures.blogspot.com   Here’s what the beach looked like in full daylight. It was not the biggest pile I’ve ever seen, nor the most prolific in terms of whole gastropods in tip-top shape, but it was pretty impressive.   So, here’s the whole haul after they gave up their beachy stink to the bleach bath.  You can see that the majority crop today was lightening whelks.  It’s amazing to me...

Tropical Storm Fay has passed

Tropical Storm Fay has passed

We got the last gasp of the outer bands this morning. When the storm finally made landfall yesterday, it was really no worse than a severe nor’easter, and I’ve been through plenty of those. Lots of wind, lots of rain, all day long. The center of the storm made landfall near Naples, Florida and progressed in a north-easterly direction. And so, the closest that the center of the storm got was about 25 miles...

Southwest Florida Skies

© Copyright 2008 Tink *~*~* http://MyMobileAdventures.blogspot.com Skywatch Friday Southwest Florida Skies May 25th, 2006 I moved from New York to Southwest Florida in the spring of 2006.  Twelve days after moving into the new house, I was treated to my first (but far from last) exposure to the wonder that is a Southwest Florida sunset. These little guys looked sort of ghostly in the twilight, gliding silently through the reflected colors of the evening...
