🙂 Here we are at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival again. Can you tell that I’m starting to get excited for my upcoming trip to Orlando? 😉 Woops, I need to tell the story in haiku – here we go!
This sign speaks the truth –
Disney loves a festival
AND a celebration!
It’s so true – every year, they think up some reason or another to have a hullabaloo, so you’ll feel like you’re missing something if you don’t make the pilgrimage. Pretty clever marketing, huh?
Look! the gang’s all here
Mickey, Minnie and the rest
greet us at the gate.
Spaceship Earth reflects
patterned slivers of blue skies;
geospheric orb
I love the way the facets of the geosphere capture little pieces of sky. It can be a harsh-looking structure when the sky is cloudy and gray, but blue really softens it as a backdrop for these classic Disney characters in topiary.
Here’s Pluto with the monorail track behind him and some more of that amazing blue Orlando sky. I want you to look REALLY closely at Pluto. What do you notice about him, hmmmm?
Isn’t Pluto cool? 8)
Guess what Pluto’s secret is?
(Look at his collar…)
So, did you see what I wanted you to see? Or maybe you didn’t… I will give you a hint as to what you are looking for. These photos are from the 2005 Flower and Garden Festival, which had a very specific theme. I’ll wait while you click that and look for the clue…. oh, good, you’re back. Are you tired of squinting? I’ll give you another hint – in fact, I will give you something to CLICK so you can see a close-up. Then, if you please, c’mon back here to the comments section, and tell me what you found!

How pretty!! Those are really cool!
Hidden Mickeys!!! I love the hidden Mickeys! It’s definately my mission to “unhide” some Mickeys the next time I’m at Disney.
Now that is too cool! Orlando is beautiful and you’re lucky to get to go again. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful time. Those skies sure are blue!!!
Thanks so much for sharing these magnificent photos with us.

I see that it’s an international festival. Amazing entries and fun photos!
My sky photo post is here:

I just love these photos. The topiary is really clever.
Is this the celebration that started all the hidden Mickey’s or has that been around a long time? You are getting really good at this trifecta thing. Maybe I should take you to the dog races! 🙂 I think after summer is over that (trifecta) may become a new obession for me. I don’t dare waste a moment of summer on it because in a blink of an eye it will be over (if it ever gets here!).
So is it the hidden Mickeys? What a fun and beautiful exibit!!! Great snaps!
Your photos brought back great memories. We used to go every year at Easter. Had great times. Enjoy your trip. Make lots of memories.
pretty blue sky! looks like fun!
Look at all those hidden little Mickeys! Definitely some gorgeous sky photos in here, too. I’ve been to Epcot just once back in 2006 when I attended a dispatch conference in Orlando. It was so big, we didn’t get to see but half of it.
Are the Mickey heads flower arrangements, too?
Hey Tink. Hope all is well! Long time since I visited your blog but I see you’re keeping up the good work. Loving the Pluto pic. So cool! 🙂 Have a great weeekend!
That’s too kewl!! Thanks for sharin’ those, and have a great weekend ahead! (Looks like rain in our corner…hope you see clear skies!)
Awwww man! I SO wanna go see this in person!
Those look so awesome! I can’t wait until we can visit and see them in person!
I love the hidden Mickeys!!! And everything about Disney and Epcot and Orlando. Sigh!
Tink, what’s with the beautiful no-humidity skies in Central Fla?? Blue and moisture free. Happy to see my favorite Donald in the background…
I always find topiary amazing. When I trim a shrub, it never looks like I’d envisioned, and I was only hoping for semi-rounded!
Wow, I can see why you would be excited. I live near Disneyland and I am itching to take the girls up there this week. It will always be a magical place to me.
I love Epcot center…too fun!!
I love the way very green Pluto looks against the clear blue sky
Gorgeous pictures – I LURVE Pluto, but I must admit I thought he had hearts on his collar. 🙂
All I have to say is,you had best have your arse there in May,when we’re there.Or no Blue Dolphin(you could use that signage on a Monday, btw)for you!
Stumbled onto your blog! Love these pics. We will be there at the F&G Festival next month!! Can’t wait.
That is amazing topiary – how on earth did they do pluto’s ears!
I thought it was the Mickeys, but I wasn’t saying anything until someone else said it first!
My boys have been begging for Disney for a while now. Guess I had better get moving!
Now that is really cool! My sister, niece, and I are already making plans to go back to Epcot this fall for the International Food & Wine Festival. This time I’m gonna look for secret clues….
Oh yeah……I didn’t even have to clicky clicky to see those hidden Mickeys. 🙂
