The beach at Blind Pass, Captiva Island

Photo taken with my Nokia E71 camera phone at Blind Pass, Captiva Island. It’s a little grainy, because the camera phone needs more light than this to be effective, but I liked the composition and the way the struggling sun seeps through the clouds to reflect on the water. My friend Christene and I stopped to see if the storm was bringing in any good shells, but it was too cold and windy to stay. December 5th, 2009

  1. I was thinking of going down and looking to see what shells that wind brought in also, but looked around and decided to make a shell mirror for my daughter with the ones I already have. Lol, must make room for the new!

  2. Rhonda, there wasn’t a lot there beyond a pile of rubble. Either the good stuff had already been got, or else there was no good stuff rolling in yet. Some surfers, some fishers, but nothing really spectacular. I picked up one keyhole limpet and Chris picked up a few baby sea urchins. We weren’t really dressed for the cold and wind, went shopping instead!

  3. I think this is a great photo. There is a sense of isolation in the picture that I find quite appealing. Have a great Outdoor Wednesday and enjoy the holidays to come

  4. It’s beautiful and doesn’t look a bit grainy to me. It’s a classic poetic composition which perks the imagination.
