I love the pixie dust on my chocolate spiral.

The lamb is exquisite at Flying Fish
I am not a lamb person. I have had it twice at Flying Fish and both times I thought to myself, "I don’t do lamb because … why?" It was served with a fabulous Shiraz.
Swan sunset
As the sun sets beside the Swan resort, I sit on our balcony and contemplate what to do with my evening. I passed on Party For The Senses because I just can’t do two days in a row of bad-for-you food. But I do need to drink to a friend’s birthday so I will probably venture forth one more time before the evening is through.
I searched all day for a pretzel
I could not find a pretzel at the Animal Kingdom. Everyone was fresh out. I had resigned myself to a knotless fate, and then I found THIS pretzel on the Boardwalk. Worth the wait
New view – Walt Disney World Swan
We switched rooms at the Boardwalk and now we have an even more amazing view. The kids are doing homework. It’s a bit nippy and windy out today. I think it is an Animal Kingdom day!
Hidden Mickeys in the carpet
This is REALLY a long trek from the elevators! But you get to look at some nice hidden Mickeys on the way.
Creepy chairs at the Boardwalk
Some folks like these chairs – I think it’s sort of creepy (and even creepier if you sit in them – the horror!)
Oops, I did it again
I know I was just here at the beginning of the month. But my favorite youngest brother invited me. What’s a woman to do ? 😉

Meeting friends on the Boardwalk for dinner; will check out the shops for other gift ideas for a fashionista six year old
Cooling off at Walt Disney World
Yesterday it was raining in fits and starts. As I was walking on the Boardwalk from the Swan to EPCOT, the sun came out again and the rain was rising from the Boardwalk as steam. It was downright weird to see people walking through mist in full sunshine. I tried to get some video of it but it wasn’t particularly visible.
So we only did a few things before deciding that the crowds and the heat were making it not-so-fun. We’ve come back to the Swan to cool off – I’m here in the room, Bro is in his room having a nappie-poo, and SIL and Nieceling are down at the pool cooling off.
We saw the otters! They were active and fun, and I got some video, which I’m busy uploading to YouTube and will post a link soon.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the otters? 😀 Yeah, I know – I’ve been pretty Blah-Blah talkative about them, haven’t I?
We’re going to rest up and then have dinner… somewhere! I think we were originally going to the Rainforest at Animal Kingdom, but since we ended up leaving there early, I’m not sure if we intend to go back there this evening or not. I hear the Magic Kingdom is open till 2:00 am….
When You Wish Upon A Star
*1L seems to think I should blog this. I saw a shooting star tonight! Long-time readers may recall the last time I saw a shooting star. It was Sunday November 2nd, 2003 (scroll down a lot). I had just returned to my room at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas from having dinner at Boma with Chez Bro and da fambly.
I entered my darkened room and immediately made a beeline for the terrace door. As soon as I set foot on the terrace, I saw a shooting star, right over the Yacht Club! How cool was that?!?! Quickly, I shut my eyes and made my “when you wish upon a star” – and no, I won’t tell you what it was, for I want my dreams to come true!
Well, I can tell y’all now – I wished that night that I could move to Florida to live permanently. About 2.5 years later, that wish came true.
Granted, I had to do some work toward the fulfillment of that wish, but really, things lined up so harmonically – the exit from the Wall Street building, the telecommuting culture catching on like wildfire, the outsourcing agreement that ended up being insourced again, only people had moved away by then, thus setting a precendent… I’m tellin’ ya, it was the stars!
So… yes, I made a wish upon that star tonight. No, I won’t tell you what it was! We’ll see what happens…
