Back at the ranch, Tootie carved up great honkin’ hunks of that HUGE coconut cake I won and wrapped them up for friends to enjoy. I had a petite honkin’ hunk of it, for which I shall pay on the treadmill tomorrow 😉 It is our friend’s birthday, but she is far away in California at the moment so we decorated my petite hunk and I blew out the candle for her.
I could not finish my hunk, petite though it was. Despite this fact, it was a great day spent with great friends! Many thanks to Kim whose idea it was to attend the Barista Challenge.

This is where we put a tick mark next to our favorite concoctions. As you can see, primacy and latency may have been in effect here – people really seemed to like the first and last tastes of the afternoon.

Everyone who showed up for this event and took part in the "People’s Choice" tasting and voting got to take home this cute ceramic spoon and mug combo with a bag of chocolate-covered espresso beans. I am saving those for my SIL when she comes to Florida in a few weeks – I have enough trouble sleeping as it is, thank you very much. Don’t need to be snacking on espresso beans!!!

ME! That’s right – I won this HUGE coconut cake at the coffee tasting event. Since I could not possibly even make a dent in that much cake, my friends were kind enough to take great hunks of it off my hands.

This team of Bailey’s baristas competed against one another with their best beverage inventions. 2nd from left is Erin Not sure which one won the judge’s choice. Further to the right in the black T-shirt is Mimi who won the People’s Choice.
