On the way out, we stopped to gape at a small gator sunning himself near one of Casa Ybel’s fountains. He was about 4 feet-ish long, and I didn’t want to press my luck by getting too close.

It still amazes me that coconut palms are even permitted in proximity to windows in hurricane country!

Now we’ve moved on – we’re having pina coladas during “happy hour” at the Casa Ybel pool bar, “Coconuts”. There was live music for a while, but we were really too late to catch the whole performance. It’s a shame that the food and drinks are so very expensive here, because the environment is pleasant on a Sunday afternoon.
